Born July 21,
1978 in San Francisco, California but was raised in St. Paul,
Minnesota
Josh has had an interesting
history of auditioning for high profile projects and sometimes
just not making the cut. For example, he auditioned five times
for Dawson's Creek and failed to land himself on the hit teen
show. This despite his previous experiences on the American
version of Cracker. Hartnett was 19 at the time.
Another role he missed out
on was the Bruckheimer produced Remember The Titans. Bruckheimer
is mentioned for a reason, he is part of the reason Josh Hartnett
is about to go from teen heart throb to Hollywood Star.
Prior to acting Hartnett spent
his acadmeic years at Richfield High School playing football
and working part time as a video clerk. Josh tore a ligmanet
in his knee cruching any further dreams of football. At the
urging of an AUnt he transferred schools and began his first
foray in theatre. Small plays, commercials followed.
With these modest success',
Josh moved on to Los Angeles. Within a short three months
he landed the part on the short-lived TV series, Cracker.
The big screen followed as he landed a high profile role in
Halloween: H20 and followed that with another horror film,
The Faculty.
Since then Josh has expanded
his filmography by starring in the critically maligned Town
and Country which stars Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton. After
Pearl Harbor he still has three more films left to hit the
big screen. One of which, O* (a modern version of Othello),
has been prevented from being screened several times due to
the violent ending, Blackhawk Down and 40 Days & 40 Nights.
