Interviewer: Your castmates say that
you're worlds away from your character Phoebe.
Lisa : I'm actually more happy, and Jennifer Aniston is a lot more spiritually
orientated. Every time we talk, I think she would be a great Pheobe. They
wouldn't let me read for Rachel.
Interviewer : So what do you suppose
is the secret of the show's success?
Lisa : It's 6 people with a good sense of humor about things, and that's
always fun. I know that's what I liked about Cheers and The Mary Tyler
Moore Show. Everyone on the show says something that you're thinking,
"That's what I'd say in that situation," except they put it
a lot better than you would because they've had 9 writers working on it
for a few weeks.
Interviewer : Who are all these people
watching Friends?
Lisa : It's amazing who relates to this show. in NYC, I met some very
strange and ultra-frightening people who were pierced all over their bodies
and they told me, "You guys are just like our friends. We think Ross
is really cute."
Interviewer : When did you think the
show was a phenomenon?
Lisa : When I started hearing about drinking games on the internet. they
have all these rules like start drinking if Chandler says something funny.
And if Barry shows up, drink everything.
Interviewer : So have you ever been
tempted to play these Friends drinking games?
Lisa : No, I could never drink that much.
Interviewer : How was the cast able to avoid ego
problems?
Lisa : We keep each other incheck. if I threw a tantrum, I know Matthew
Perry would be the first one to mock me.
Interviewer : So do u see Phoebe as the original
riot girl?
Lisa : I do. I see an album, tours. I think she's really got something.
